This is my first scorpion so i will post some of my knowledge on how to take care of this species..
Common Name: Asian Forest Scorpion
Range: Asian tropical rainforests, from India to Indonesia for the most part.
Type: Terrestrial, but will burrow to some extent.
Communal:For me,yes. I tried to commune two 2i spinifers upto their adulthood. I just provide enough prey for them to eat. Also never forget to provide them seperate hides or more hides is better.
Full grown Size: 3.5inches - 5inches
Temperature: 23-33° C
Humidity: 78 to 82%. Adults may drink from a shallow, wide water dish.
Temperament: Semi-docile and nervous.
Speed: Medium
Toxicity: 2 out of 5 [5 as the highest]
Diet: Young can eat pinhead crickets, small roaches, chopped mealworms [Best results if feed prey smaller than their size]. Adlult can eat crickets, roaches, spiders, lizards, pinkies and mealworms.
Housing:Babies can live in a clear plastic deli-container with air holes. Adults can live in a 2.5 to 15-gallon tank, depending on the number of scorpions. Floor space is more important than height.
Substrate:3 to 4 inches of peat moss, or potting soil.
Asian Forest Scorpions are good for the beginner that wants to try something more aggressive than an Emperor Scorpion (Pandinus imperator). Asian Forest Scorpions actually resemble the Emperor Scorpion in coloration, and even shape. These scorpions are dark brown to black, with most species sporting a green or blue tint in certain lighting. They are hardy scorpions, in that way they are similar to Emperor Scorpions. They can be kept in groups of three or more, like Emperor Scorpions, if provided with enough food, but that is not recommended.
