Guys,
I have a friend of mine who says that all longi can give birth without the need for mating them. Is this true?
Parthenogenesis is a form of asexual reproduction found in females, where growth and development of embryos occurs without fertilization by a male. In plants, parthenogenesis means development of an embryo from an unfertilized egg cell, and is a component process of apomixis.

h.longi has been proven to be pathogenic one by my friend in manila and been keeping scorps for about 10 years and he's one of the people who was the founder of scorps hobby here in the phil. and our friends from cebu have proved them out.. 2 years nya gin sagod then nag bata gid.. but the problem is that the states would'nt accept it since there's no scientific documentation etc etc.. of course being simple pinoy hobbyist questions one credibility..you should try it..

I have seen a thread sa arachnoboards about this topic. Its really an interesting read. Although the conversation was turning into a debate. It was reported here in the Philippines about the parthenogenic H. longimanus. Reported by sir vixvy (i think sya ang gina refer ni sir matt). I really hope that he makes a full report about how his h. longi reproduced asexually. I think alot of hobbyists would find it to be a good read. Since almost all of us have/has kept h.longimanus. He kept his longi for 8 years, wow that's impressive!
