One of BEE's goal is to have the members' pets be registered and make it legalize in keeping them.
Today (Sept. 23, 2009)
Went to DENR and ask for what are the options in getting the permits,
there was this CWR which we can apply individually but sad to say they're stop giving those privileges away since 2006. That was the last time and final notice for those who wanted to declare there pets.
Another option was for a individual to declare his/her pets to get Collection permit, which you can get from the main office in manila.
Another option was to have a representative declare a farm in his/her name, since having it on a organization will be a bit difficult on the provincial part of the DENR to approved and processed.will make at least 3 pages of management plan of the breeding farm and get other permits from the location's barangay, financial plan if the farm could be maintained, etc, etc... and will have a inspection and inventory on the animals and facilities. thats that and we all get our permits..
downside of having breeding farm:
*during inventory all animals should be present meaning all members pet should be there for the inspection.
*will cost a bit since we need to have cages to be place for the management plan which will be inspected and inventoried.
*any illegal activities of other members will reflect on the owner of the farm
*we cannot sell the breeders we can simply sell the offsprings of the animal
*it will take at least one year to become legal
FAQs:
1. Now what about our BIG shows like mall show?
= if we have agreed (board members) and is in the process of processing the permits, then we can have a verbal/written agreement with the DENR to showcase and educate the public. And with the facilitating and watching eyes of the DENR satff (note that i highlighted the words "showcase and educate" it's because we are not permitted to sell this animals)
2. So would I get my permit?
= yes and no, why? theoretically you will get a permit, but it won't be under your name as it is registered to the owner's breeding farm only the offspring of your animal. Since only the said owner/breeder of the permitted breeding farm could be issued by the DENR and the owner/breeder could apply for the offspring to be sold and permitted. But there would be an agreement of course which will be discuss further if it would be finalize.
( Another thing I learned was that the DENR has yet to have a permit on invertebrates.
If somebody reports you and placed a claim against you DENR will get your collection personally, but with the knowledge that they can't care for the animals since they don't have the knowledge nor the facility, but told me that when somebody reports you they can't just do nothing about it, and encourages the people to get permits for there pets but with the process and requirements no wonder people don't get permits but that's just me.. )
thats all for the update for today..
BEE would be still a NON PROFITABLE organization.
willing to educate and legalize our hobby for the sake of camaraderie and same interest hobbyist.
