Basic Information About Cockatiels:
Cockatiels are medium-sized, trim birds that are one of the most popular companion birds. Known for their pumpkin orange cheeks patches, bright yellow crests and their long sleek gray bodies. Very sweet and loving birds that make great pets for anyone. They are relatively quiet, nondestructive, entertaining birds that are easy to care for. Many love to cuddle and have their head scratched and in return will preen your hair and clothes! They can be kept in places where loud pets are not allowed, like apartments and condos, and they are very healthy and intelligent pets who will recognize and want to be with their owner when they are home.
They adapt well to captivity and are easily bred housed as pairs in colonies. Although color mutations are highly valued by some aviculturists, the inbreeding required to produce unusual colors often results in some negative genetic disorders. The lutino or white cockatiel is most afflicted with some of these genetic defects including balding on the head, a nervous disposition and other abnormalities. The normal gray cockatiel has the best chance for a relatively long healthy life.
Cockatiels are limited talkers (males may be better), but some individuals are so good at whistling that their tunes are recognizable.

wow simply beautiful! hope to see this personally! salamat guid sir. indi lang galing sila tamed kay ara ko sa breedig program. kun mag show la man guid ga palag a  i have heard nga may mga bird show naman kuno sa bacolod, ang problem ko kay perme late na ko gaka inform so indi ko ka prepare perme  |

it's more like a show your bird more than a competition hehehe ay gali sir? so there is no formal competition yet sa bacolod on birds? i thought may ara na. bali exhibit dapat gali ang tawag kaysa bird show?  guin balita lang abi sa akon so i don't have the full details. tani ma develope man da ang bird industry sa negros. anyway, tani makabulig man ko da sa mga bird enthusiast sa negros. i'll keep on posting some of the bird species that i have. actually, ang aim sang akon hobby is to develope show quality birds. tani madayun thanks for the interest mga sir  |

hi mga taga bacolod. my apolgies kung wala ko na madugangan post ko. i'll try add more pictures next week kay mapuli ko sa hinigaran sa bakasyon. hopefully mayo condition sang mga birds para nami man e post.

sir gud day. question lang regarding sa cockatiel. we have 3 cockatiels, (2 cocks,1 hen). wev been waitng for d hen to lay egg pero wla gyapon nag lay more dan a year na cguro. naka pa hatch xa once lang (amo na ang isa ka laki). any tips? or suggestions sa diets, etc?

sir gud day. question lang regarding sa cockatiel. we have 3 cockatiels, (2 cocks,1 hen). wev been waitng for d hen to lay egg pero wla gyapon nag lay more dan a year na cguro. naka pa hatch xa once lang (amo na ang isa ka laki). any tips? or suggestions sa diets, etc? good day sir. sori for the late reply. so proven na gali ang pair mo. try lang sir suggestions ko below, tani mag work 1. separate ang ila nga bata sir sa iban nga cage 2. check the nest box kng clean pa man or need some cleanups kg replacement sang nesting materials, usually pg indi nila gusto and smell indi sila mag sulod. try putting in a little eucalyptus oil (mabakal sa drug store) inside the clean nest box to encourage them to get inside 3. i recommend that you give them mixed seeds (bird seed, canary seeds, oath growths and sunflowers) para complete and nutrients. also give them cuttle bone for calcium and vegetables daily to trigger nesting 4. if the male goes in and checks the box, start na na sir please let me know sir kng may questions pa. im very willing to help  |

sir corics gud morning. last month nag lay egg ang tiel pero dnt know kun pila kabilog ky wla ko gna peek sa iya nest fearing nga basi i-reject ya kun hilabtan ang nest. den last 2wks ago kita ko one empty egg shell sa floor sg cage so gn assume ko nga may na hatch kg bati-an ko man ang chirp sg chick. So ano mayo sir, pabay-an ko lang anay ang chick or ipa gwa ko sya sa nest? ang nest is made of plywood gn obra box.
